Okay, if you have ever done this please post a comment and admit it. If not, let me know so I can confirm I really am a TriNerd.
When I did my first triathlon some years agon (a springtime race that is the first one of the year in Northern Utah), I was so excited and proud to have accomplished it, I didn’t want the good feeling to end right away.
Sooooo… when I got home and was cleaning up in the shower, I didn’t try very hard to wash off my magic marker race number on the back of my leg. My thinking was that if someone asked me what that was, it would be a chance to talk about having done my first triathlon race. Sad I know, but true.
Now it’s your turn to blab to the world. Have you ever been in any kind of race and done anything like this? Come on… go ahead and get it out there, it’ll feel good :>)
Hey, Kevin! This blog is great. Thanks for setting it up. And thanks for all the advice and encouragement you've given me over the past few years as I've begun my tri journey!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, when I did my Half Ironman last year, I did the exact same thing you've mentioned in this entry. It washed off way too easily for all the effort I put into training for the race. :)
Also, since we're confessing here - when our family does the overnight Ragnar Relay, I like to leave the crazy decorations on our family van as long as I can so that I can tell people about the great time we share together doing it. But funny thing - for the Del Sol early this year, we used the wrong kind of paint, and I couldn't get it off even when I tried! Our van was quite ugly until we finally used gasoline to get it off.
Long live the tri nerds - From what it looks like, we're taking over the world!!!
Awesome post Mike! Thanks for sharing. I love the van decoration adventure... that's a priceless family memory that will love on.
